Fowler ramrod: How durable is it?

These ramrods are sized to match original English fowling pieces, as a larger 3/8" rod would look historically incorrect. A decent quality 5/16" rod will have no issues with durability when seating a ball, provided you load by choking down on the rod (using short strokes close to the muzzle) rather than gripping it far from the bore.
