Iron nitrate in the barrel channel seems to be causing rust or corrosion on my barrel. How do I stop it?

If iron nitrate in the barrel channel is causing corrosion, mix baking soda with water into a slurry and paint it onto the affected areas of the stock with a small brush. Allow it to dry, then brush off the residual baking soda.
