Why won't my lock hammer drop past the half-cock position after reassembling my rifle kit?

If the hammer does not drop past the half-cock position, it typically means the fly is missing from the lock assembly. The fly is a tiny part and often lost during disassembly. To fix it, we can send a replacement tumbler and sear, or you can send the lock back and we'll fix it at no charge. Sending the lock back is the best solution.
