Why does the set trigger on my Southern Mountain Rifle only fall to half cock instead of firing?

If the set trigger falls only to half cock when the front trigger is pulled with the lock cocked, the most likely cause is a missing fly, a very small part that fits behind the tumbler in the lock. The fly is easy to lose if the lock is taken apart, and if it is lost, the sear will fall into the half cock notch on the tumbler. Contact Kibler's and they will send a replacement.
