Barn Gun tools and supplies

To assemble and finish the Appalchian Barn Gun kit, you will need the following:

Tools:

- 1/8" and 1/4" chisels

- Exacto-style knife

- Small mallet

- Sharpening stone

- 6"–8" single-cut mill file

- 6"–8" fine-cut half-round file

- Triangular needle file

- Flat needle file

- 1/16" pin punch

- Small hammer

- Hand or power drill

- Side cutters

- Pliers or vise grips

- Screwdrivers

- 2"–3" C-clamp

Finishing Supplies (not included in the kit):

- Metal finish: browning solution, bluing, or an aging solution

- Abrasive paper: starting around 150-grit up to 320-grit for wood; wet/dry paper for metal polishing

- Wood stain: Iron nitrate is a traditional, high-quality option for maple stocks

- Stock finish: your choice of gunstock finish
