Fowler sights: How do I align them?

We soft solder the front sights on. However, to correct shooting to the side on a fowler, bending the barrel is often preferred. Because there is no rear sight, windage issues can also be caused by how the gun is being shouldered and aimed. You can temporarily glue on a simple rear sight to verify your aim before making permanent adjustments. Moving the front sight enough to correct a 3-inch deviation might require a significant shift, which may not look right.
