For the barrel, browning or rust bluing are durable choices, and rust bluing is simply browning that is boiled afterward. For the wood, Kibler Gunstock Sealer and Finish holds up reasonably well in wet weather. No stock finish is fully waterproof, so build it up in thin coats.
