Hawken standing breech: How is it designed?

This feature echoes the 'snail' on the other side of the stock and is historically found on a number of higher-grade Hawken rifles. It is an aesthetic and historical design element that adds to the overall feel and balance of the rifle, rather than a safety hazard, though removing it is not recommended if you wish to maintain historical accuracy.
