Carving, remove the shine with pumice or rottenstone
Shine in carving does not look right. Dust pumice or rottenstone on a toothbrush and scrub all of the carving, and it is worth going over the whole stock the same way. Finish by buffing the stock hard with a towel, or by putting an ultra thin layer of finish on the exposed high areas.
