Why is a brass nose cap installed at the end of the Woodsrunner stock?
The nose cap protects the end grain at the front of the stock, similar to how the entry pipe and butt plate protect end grain elsewhere on the rifle. End grain is more prone to chipping or damage, so covering it with brass hardware protects those vulnerable areas.
