Why do fowling pieces have single triggers instead of double triggers?
Fowling pieces always had single triggers designed to be pulled rather than squeezed, unlike rifles that used set triggers for careful sighting. Fowlers were developed with wing shooting in mind, though when exported they were also used to shoot round balls and whatever else could be loaded down the barrel.
