What wood does Kibler's primarily use for maple stocks?
Kibler's primarily uses red maple, commonly called soft maple even though it is not actually soft, with some sugar maple passing through the shop as well, at roughly a 90 percent red maple mix. Red maple can vary a fair amount in hardness and quality, so the wood has to be selected carefully to make sure it is appropriate for a gunstock.
