What is the difference between a fowler and a trade gun?
Most people today refer to trade guns as guns intended for trade with Native Americans, and generally consider a trade gun a lower grade gun than Kibler's fowling piece. However, Kibler's own Fowler could technically be considered a trade gun too, since it was based on guns made in England with the intent of export to the colonies rather than for domestic English use, so the distinction is largely one of terminology and intended market rather than a fixed design difference.
