Does curl run all the way through a maple tree?
Not necessarily. Curl might be present on one side of the tree and not the other, or it might appear only near the base of the tree due to compression curl, without extending all the way from the exterior to the interior of the tree. Because of this, care is needed when picking out and cutting good stock blanks.
