Why might a lock plate be a little tight or loose in its inlet?
Lock plates are investment cast, so there can be slight variation in plate size from one lock to the next. Kibler's tries to size the inlet so there are no gaps while avoiding a fit so tight that a builder has to fight to seat the part.
