Why did Kibler's move away from barrels with integral under lugs?
Kibler's was happy with barrels that had under lugs machined as an integral part of the barrel, but a newer barrel-making method does not allow for integral under lugs, though it does produce a better quality barrel overall. Because of that trade-off, Kibler's went back to separate under lugs that are dovetailed into the barrel, pre-sized to length for each location, marked, and given a lead so they start easily in the dovetail, with instructions included for fitting.
