Kibler's Longrifles Knowledge Base

How are Kibler's machined buttplates made before they go on the mill?

The process starts with a sand cast brass preform shaped roughly like the buttplate's cross section. The preform is then machined in two operations on a three axis mill with a fourth, rotary axis: the first operation machines the inside, and the second machines the outside into the finished shape.
