Why did Kibler's switch from Rice barrels to Green Mountain barrel blanks?
Kibler's likes doing as much work in house as possible, and bringing barrel work in house allowed for different manufacturing approaches and meaningful cost savings even after accounting for machinery costs. Green Mountain also has strong production capability and a solid reputation for accuracy and bore finish, so the change was not viewed as any sacrifice in quality.
