Why would I want to remove the barrel on my Hawken rifle?
The main reason to remove the barrel is for cleaning. Because the nipple has a very small hole and does not siphon water well, you pull the nipple out, then stick the breech end of the barrel in a bucket of water and pull the rod up and down to clean the barrel easily.
