Why is a bark inclusion or small crack in a maple stock blank usually not a big concern?

Minor bark inclusions are typically stabilized with a bit of cyanoacrylate (CA), or acrylic, glue in the cracks, and this does not meaningfully weaken the stock. These issues are common enough that they can be addressed without compromising the final piece.
