Why did Kibler's invest in a metalworking CNC machine for parts?
Machining parts is more precise than investment casting, though it can be more difficult to accomplish for irregular shapes typical of 18th and 19th century gun parts. Kibler's added a metalworking CNC machine and has been producing more parts on it over time, including triggers and a breech plug and tang, because the machined parts fit CNC-machined stocks very precisely.
