What sandpaper grits should I use to sand a rifle stock?

Jim recommends working through 150, 220, and then 320 grit sandpaper, in that order, going over the entire stock at each grit before moving to the next. Subsequent grits take a lot less time than the first pass at 150 grit, since most of the material removal happens early.
