What is ingrown bark and how is it repaired on a stock?
Ingrown bark is a small defect where the tree grows around bark, trapping it inside, often at a fold or scar that later heals over. It usually cannot be spotted until the stock is shaped, and it can be repaired by working dark or clear CA glue into the crack, letting it harden, and sanding it flush, after which it is often barely visible on a dark wood like walnut.
