What is a good finish choice for a rifle that will be used hunting in wet or harsh weather?
For weatherproofing a barrel used in harsh, wet conditions, browning or rust bluing are durable choices, with rust bluing simply being browning that is boiled afterward. For the wood, a durable waterproof finish like permalyn (if available) is a strong choice, though Kibler's has moved to other finish options as that product became harder to source.
