What grit progression should I use when sanding a barrel after draw filing?

After draw filing, work through sandpaper starting around 150 grit and progressing up to about 220 grit, going no finer than 320 grit. Using a flexible backing like a piece of leather wrapped around the sandpaper helps it conform to the round barrel shape while still providing support.
