What finishes does Kibler's recommend for a gunstock?
Kibler's recommends two main finishes: Permalyn Sealer, which is durable, dries fast, and is easy to use (Jim prefers the thinner sealer version over the thicker finish product since it allows thinner, better looking coats), and Tried and True oil varnish, a more traditional linseed oil based finish with rosin added that cures faster than plain linseed oil. Hardware store linseed oil is not recommended.
