Should you remove the barrel from a Woodsrunner or Southern Mountain Rifle to clean it?

Most people leave the barrel pinned in the stock and clean it in place by plugging the touch hole, such as with a toothpick, pouring water down the barrel, sloshing it around, dumping it out, and then running cleaning patches through. The barrel can be removed for cleaning instead, but care should be taken not to damage anything, and the pin ends should stay rounded.
