Kibler's Longrifles Knowledge Base

Should I carve a groove or channel right along the edge of a carving design?

No. Cutting a groove along the design line is not a good approach even though some have promoted it. It is better to work the whole surrounding area down more evenly at once, since focusing on one small area can dig a hole that is hard to blend into a smooth, clean surface.
