How does the investment casting process work for gun parts?
Each wax part is attached to a central tree, then the tree is dipped to form a ceramic shell around the wax. The wax is melted out of the ceramic shell, leaving a cavity in the shape of the parts, and metal is poured into that shell. Once the metal solidifies, the ceramic shell is broken off and the individual parts are cut from the tree.
