How do you remove the frizzen spring from a flintlock?
Compress the frizzen spring in a smaller vise just until the pressure is off it, then remove the retaining screw with a screwdriver that properly fits the slot. A dedicated frizzen spring cramp can also be used for this instead of a vise.
