How do you peen the brass screws on the Woodsrunner nose cap without damaging anything?
On the Woodsrunner, brass screws go through the stock into the nose cap and are peened to hide the visual joint of the screw heads, though this is not necessary for strength. Rather than resting the screw head on the barrel while peening, it works better to clamp a small rod or a flattened nail in a vise to use as an anvil, then peen the screw head against that from the outside.
