How do the under lugs go into the barrel on a Hawken kit, and how do I know which one goes where?
The barrel is dovetailed for the under lugs, so the assembler does not need to cut anything. The under lugs are marked H1 and H2: H1 goes nearest the breech (back of the barrel) and H2 goes nearest the muzzle. Each lug has a slight taper (lead) on one side that lets it start into the dovetail with finger pressure before it is tapped fully in.
