How do I size down a ramrod so it fits the stock and ramrod tip?
Use a cabinet scraper or sandpaper wrapped around the rod, or a file or fine rasp, to remove a small amount of wood. The ramrod tip supplied with the kit is slightly smaller than the diameter of the rod, so the rod should taper down to match the tip near that end, similar to what is seen on original work.
