Kibler's Longrifles Knowledge Base

How deep should relief carving be cut on a longrifle?

The height varies a lot and is hard to give an exact number for. In some spots the carving can taper to nearly nothing, while in others it might be as much as an eighth of an inch or more, since the idea that all traditional longrifle carving is uniformly shallow is an oversimplified view.
