How can I make a walnut Fowler stock look more like English walnut?

A yellow aniline dye can take away the purplish cast that American walnut sometimes has. The dye can be applied directly to the wood or mixed into the finish, and a bit of red can be mixed into the finish near the end of the process to fine tune the color as you go rather than trying to get the stain color perfect up front.
