How can I clean the breech area of a Hawken that has no cleanout screw?
Remove the barrel using the keys, take the nipple out, and stand the breech end in a bucket of water, then use a cleaning jag to pump water up and down through the bore. Pumping water through this way flushes out the snail breech channel effectively without needing a cleanout screw.
