Do I need to remove the barrel to clean my fowler?

No, you do not need to remove the barrel every time. Plug the touch hole with a toothpick, pour cold water down the barrel, put your thumb over the muzzle, and slosh it around, letting it sit five to ten minutes before dumping the water and running cleaning patches. For a more thorough cleaning, the barrel can occasionally be pulled and flushed with a bucket of water and a jag.
