Can you heat a frizzen to change its color?

No, a frizzen should not be heated to change its color because heating it changes its hardness and keeps it from working as well. The frizzen can still take browning fine, or it can be polished and colored by rusting it heavily and then scrubbing off the rust to create some pitting, which produces an aged look.
