Can tannic acid be combined with iron nitrate stain?

Yes, tannic acid can be used along with iron nitrate stain and enhances the wood's figure, but at the cost of more work and a cooler overall color that sometimes needs to be warmed back up with dye stains. For those new to finishing, using iron nitrate alone is usually recommended.
