Kibler's Longrifles Knowledge Base

What does twist rate mean for round ball accuracy?

Slower twist rates are better for patched round balls. 1:48 is versatile. 1:56 to 1:70 is preferred for pure round ball, less spin means less fouling and better long-range accuracy. All Kibler barrels shoot patched round ball well regardless of twist. The Colonial .54 and .58 use 1:70.
