The trigger won't move freely, it feels stiff or sticky.

The trigger should flop back and forth freely with gravity. Check for wood rubbing against the side of the trigger. If there is contact, relieve a small amount of wood. Polish the trigger pin by spinning it in a drill with fine sandpaper. Also ensure there is at least a small amount of take-up (play) at full-cock, this lets the sear seat fully in the notch.
