What is a barn gun
A barn gun as described in the video is a plain, barebones gun without typical features like a butt plate, entry pipe, nose cap, or side plate (30:37-30:46). These guns, sometimes called "schimmels" or "poor boys," were made during the period in a simpler style (30:48-30:54). The goal of creating a barn gun kit is to offer a lower-priced option (31:08-31:18) to introduce more people to traditional black powder (31:20-31:23). The barn gun kit will be available in 32 through 50 caliber (32:23-32:25), and there are plans for flint and percussion versions, as well as right- and left-handed options
