My lock's hammer or cock seems to be contacting the lock plate, leaving marks.
The cock coming to rest by hitting the plate is normal and by design. However, deep gouging or the tumbler scratching the plate in a way that interferes with rotation should be addressed. Send the lock back and we will fix it right.
