Peen

Striking metal with a hammer to spread or flatten it. On every kit, peening the nail ends locks the ramrod tip in place. The Woodsrunner also uses it to fill the countersunk screw holes in the muzzle cap. The Colonial also uses it to close small gaps between the brass buttplate and the wood, and to clinch the brass tacks that rivet the nose cap.
