Drum

A short, threaded steel cylinder screwed into the side of the barrel at the breech of the Appalachian Barn Gun percussion. The nipple threads into it, and it carries the flash from the cap into the powder charge. It comes installed. The J.K. Hawken has an integral bolster instead of a drum.
