J.K. Hawken Rifle Kit — Step 5: Installing the Barrel

Install the barrel in the stock by hooking the breech plug in the standing breech. Hold up on the rear portion of the barrel while pivoting it in place.

Typically, the barrel will drop into place by squeezing with your hands; however, some adjustment of the barrel channel or nose cap could be necessary. A single-cut mill file works well for this.

Lightly tapping the nose cap with a mallet will help seat it in place.
