J.K. Hawken Rifle Kit — Step 2: Installing the Trigger and Guard Assembly

The trigger and guard assembly should fit the inlet with little to no additional fitting.

Install by fitting the forward portion in the stock first and then move towards the buttplate. The plate will have the appearance of moving forward when tapping it into the inlet, so even if you question whether it will fit, slowly continue and it should drop into place.

Secure the trigger assembly from the tang side by threading the two tang bolts into the trigger plate. The longer screw goes nearest the barrel breech. The standing breech and trigger plate are already drilled and tapped for the forward and rear tang bolts, so no drilling is needed for them.

If there should be any gap along the wood-to-metal surface, trim the wood slightly with a sharp chisel to adjust. Transfer color will help with this process.
