Appalachian Barn Gun Kit (Percussion) — Step 10: Checking Hammer and Nipple Alignment

The drum and nipple come installed in the barrel. Do not remove them. With the lock and barrel in the stock, lower the hammer slowly onto the nipple and check that the hammer face strikes the nipple squarely and centered. The nipple should be tight in the drum. If the hammer strikes off center, contact us before filing or bending anything.
