Appalachian Barn Gun Kit (Flintlock) — Step 1: Installing Underlugs

• Install underlugs in machined dovetail slots text side first. This side has a tapered lead that allows for easier installation.

• Use underlug marked "B1" for slot nearest the breech. Use underlug marked "B2" for the second closest slot to the breech. Continue with this pattern to install all underlugs.

• Tap underlugs in place with a plastic tipped hammer, aluminum dowel, or wood dowel. Take care to make sure the underlugs are centered on the barrel.

• Finally, cinch dovetail tight on underlug using either a rectangular flat punch or flat screwdriver and a hammer. This step further locks them in place and helps prevent movement.
