Colonial American Longrifle Kit — Step 7: Installing the Sideplate

The sideplate should fit with no additional wood removal. Bolt the lock and sideplate in place with the lock bolts. The lock, sideplate, and stock are already drilled for these bolts, so no drilling is needed.

It may be necessary to trim the front lock bolt a very small amount to prevent interference with the frizzen spring.
